Dr. Sunil Persaud
Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS)
Dr. Sunil Persaud is a general dental practitioner who strives to empower patients and help them optimize their oral health. He enjoys improving his patients’ awareness in order to build brighter smiles.
Dr. Persaud was born and raised in London, Ontario. He graduated from the University of Western Ontario, earning an Honors Bachelor of Science Degree with Specialization in Biology. Upon completion of his first degree, Dr. Persaud volunteered with the Dental Outreach Community Services (DOCS) program, facilitated by the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry.
Through his position with DOCS, he recognized the importance and reward of social accountability, and was inspired to purse his passion for dentistry. Looking to broaden his horizons, he moved to the south of Ireland, where he achieved an Honors Degree of Bachelor of Dental Surgery from University College Cork. During his training in Ireland, Dr. Persaud contributed to multiple research projects and earned an award for excellence in endodontics.
After 5 years of practicing dentistry alongside Dr. Pennie Thornton, Dr. Persaud purchased her practiced and established Village Green Family Dental.
Dr. Persaud loves learning and continues to expand his knowledge to ensure he provides his patients with the care they deserve. He is a member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, the Ontario Dental Association, and the London District Dental Society. In his free time, he enjoys the outdoors, exploring international cuisine, and spending time with his loved ones and community.
Dr. Pennie Thornton
Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS)
Dr. Pennie Thornton is a 1981 graduate of the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Western Ontario. She began her career at 49 Carfrae Crescent as the fifth associate of Dr. Robert Biesenthal. In 1986, Dr. Pennie and her husband, John Jevnikar, bought the property and dental practice and proceeded to raise their family in the attached house.
One of Dr. Pennie’s greatest professional joys is treating third and fourth generations of a family. It is a true privilege to her to witness the growth and life progress of so many fabulous people. Dr. Pennie applied to dental school without much preplanning but has never had a working day that she (completely) regretted! She truly does not know what other career she could have chosen that would have been as much fun and given her so much satisfaction over the years.
Dr. Pennie enjoys volunteering in many areas, both in and outside of dentistry. She and Dr. Sunil Persaud met many years ago while both volunteering with a program called Dental Outreach Community Service. Currently, Dr. Pennie serves on the board of the London Community Dental Alliance. This organization runs The Wright Clinic, a dental clinic that exists to provide oral health care to our underserved neighbours.
Non-dental activities enjoyed by Dr. Pennie include gardening, baking, and cake decorating. Quilting is a hobby that she also plans to explore and spend time on sometime soon.
Dr. Cynthia James
Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS)
Dr. Cynthia James is passionate about educating her patients about oral healthcare and helping them achieve positive outcomes when it comes to their smile. She also finds it rewarding having the opportunity to meet new people everyday and earning the trust of her patients.
Dr. James was born in the U.A.E. She pursued her passion for dentistry at Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, earning her Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2011. After graduation, she started her career as a Doctor of Dental Surgery at a multi-specialty hospital. During the last year of her tenure at the hospital, she managed the department and ensured each patient’s needs were listened to and taken care of.
As part of the organization’s initiative to give back, there were dental camps and seminars that Dr. James actively took part in, something she holds dearly to her as she had the opportunity to help those in need. Her caring personality and advocation for using her dental knowledge to help patients are traits Dr. James brought with her when she moved to London and joined Village Green Family Dental.
Apart from dentistry, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and is fond of cooking. She is actively involved in various social and cultural activities, dancing being her favourite, which she also trains children in.

Our dentists are assisted by Certified Dental Assistants, who have many years of experience in dentistry. These trained dental professionals, with a large skillset, are also there for you during your appointment, and strive to have you leaving your appointment saying, “That wasn’t so bad!”
> YOUR REGISTERED DENTAL HYGIENISTS (RDH)
Our dental family also has a team of Registered Dental Hygienists, all of whom are in good standings with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario. They do more than just “cleanings”. Good oral hygiene habits are important to your dental and general health. Our hygienists are here to help with hygiene education, and even discuss how your nutrition can play a part in your oral health.

Our Dental Receptionists and Office Manager are the first and last team members you will meet at each appointment. They are also there for you if you have any questions about billing, booking appointments, patient education forms, and much more.
